Doha
Arrived in Doha, Qatar (“u” after “q” only applies to infidels) a few hours ago after 12 hour flight from Washington D.C. My seat was between two crying infants. After a while it didn’t matter because I was crying too. I actually did feel sorry for them. I know from years of flying our own plane that even pressurized planes are tough on little ears. Modern jets are pressurized to about 8,000 feet so I look at it as my initial acclimatization for Everest. Only 20,000 more feet to go. Of course the air is extremely dry as it is pressurized bleed air from the engines. Also it circulates through the cabin several times a minute contrary to common perception. Not that anyone would care. In any case I am sitting here with my body wondering why it is bone tired but not sleepy and feels like 2:00PM but is dark out. So my body gives me a head ache for revenge. It also reminded me why I usually avoid curry dishes on long flights. Well *there it is* – Everest 3.0. The “I should know better tour” has begun.
