Rest Day at Dinfbouche

It was very cold last night but we woke to a beautiful day. As I type this it is beginning to cloud over which will make for a warmed night – it keeps the heat in. We walked over to Pheriche today to see the Himalayan Rescue Associations clinic. They are a non-profit that provides medical care for climbers, trekkers and Nepali’s. Foreigners pay and that with donations supports their work among the locals. It is probably the highest clinic in the world and a very amazing place considering what they do with the little they have to work with. Our team has paid to have unlimited consultations from a tent clinic they will set up at base camp. These people are the experts on all high altitude problems and it gave me extra comfort to know they are there. I will share more about them and the research they are involved with in the coming weeks. Tomorrow we leave for Lobuche at 16,500.
